Job Description

Selectek has a full-time Transmission Line Design Engineer opportunity with electric cooperative in Tucker, GA.  Leverage your expertise to design the future of their grid!

Hybrid work from home schedule.

You'll play a pivotal role in:
  • Conceptualizing and designing high-voltage transmission lines (experience with structural design a plus!).
  • Translating your ideas into clear and actionable plans: Develop drawings, specifications, and contract documents for construction, fabrication, and bidding.
  • Staying at the forefront of the industry: Conduct research, engineering studies, and evaluate new materials and design standards.
  • Guiding complex projects: Select and apply appropriate design techniques, adapting them for even the most challenging jobs.
  • Championing collaboration: Represent the Transmission Line Design team within the company and foster knowledge sharing.
  • Shaping the future: Lead the development and modification of design standards to ensure continuous improvement.

For Senior Engineers:
  • Empower the next generation: Take the lead in training and mentoring new design associates.
  • Provide expert guidance: Conduct design reviews for complex projects, ensuring the highest quality.
  • Become a trusted advisor: Offer technical consultation and support within the department, across functions, and to our member cooperatives.
  • Represent us with confidence: Be prepared to provide legal testimony on complex projects and our engineering practices.
  • Drive innovation: Spearhead research initiatives, evaluate new materials, and implement your findings.
  • Be a strategic thinker: Assist in setting departmental goals and budgets, and lead process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Civil/Structural, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-10 years of experience in transmission line design (OR) 4-8 years with a Professional Engineering license.
  • Proficiency in PLS CADD, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Suite.
