Job Description
We have an immediate need for a Traffic Engineer in the Tysons, VA area.
Starting pay is based on experience but estimated to be 75-100k+ once direct.

Job description:
- Planning and project management involving transportation design projects.
- Leading in the preparation of traffic design projects: Including traffic signal, lighting, maintenance of traffic, detour, pavement marking and signing projects
- Preparation of technical documents to include traffic analysis studies, site access and circulation evaluation studies.
- Signal warrant, design exception/waiver documentation and proposal preparation.
- Attending, participating, leading project meetings.
- Working with traffic engineering and transportation planning initiatives with other offices.
- Occasional local travel
- The ideal candidate will have a mix of knowledge, skills and experience including; project management, public presentation, analytical and organizational skills.
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 4 to 8 years of work experience in transportation engineering and/or civil engineering.
- Knowledge of Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Manual on Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
- CAD Software AutoCAD and/or Microstation
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Professional Engineer or able to obtain within agreed upon time period.
- Experience with traffic analysis software (I.E. Synchro)

Nick was born and raised in the Rochester, New York area. In the early summer of 1998, after earning his BA in Communications from SUNY Oswego, he decided to take a 16 hour road trip to Atlanta, GA and see what all the fuss was about. Fast forward to 2020, Nick still resides in the Metro Atlanta area. NASCAR, the Atlanta Braves and homemade sweet tea may have had a slight influence on his decision to stay.
Nick has found the staffing industry to be a good match for his personality type. He gets paid to talk on the phone, take clients out to lunch and feels a true sense of pride when he can provide a viable solution to his client’s needs. He is excited to be a part of the Selectek family and enjoys the company of his co-workers.
When not in the office, Nick enjoys spending time with his family, playing in a Rec Soccer league and playing a few video games here and there.
