Job Description

We have an immediate need for a Traffic Engineer in the Tysons, VA area.

Job description:
  • Planning and project management involving transportation design projects.
  • Leading in the preparation of traffic design projects: Including traffic signal, lighting, maintenance of traffic, detour, pavement marking and signing projects
  • Preparation of technical documents to include traffic analysis studies, site access and circulation evaluation studies.
  • Signal warrant, design exception/waiver documentation and proposal preparation.
  • Attending, participating, leading project meetings.
  • Working with traffic engineering and transportation planning initiatives with other offices.
  • Occasional local travel
Required:
  • The ideal candidate will have a mix of knowledge, skills and experience including; project management, public presentation, analytical and organizational skills.
  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • 4 to 8 years of work experience in transportation engineering and/or civil engineering.
  • Knowledge of Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Manual on Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
  • CAD Software AutoCAD and/or Microstation
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred:
  • Professional Engineer or able to obtain within agreed upon time period.
  • Experience with traffic analysis software (I.E. Synchro)
Pay:  $36-$53/hr.
Location:  Tysons, VA
Duration:  Temp-to-hire
