Job Description


Selectek is seeking a Traffic Control Plan Drafter (TCP) to join a growing firm in the telecommunications industry. This position will play a vital role in creating Traffic Control Plans and Maps in support of fiber network builds across City, County, and State Highways.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and design Traffic Control Plans using AutoCAD, adhering to jurisdictional requirements for both typical and custom setups.
  • Draft plans that include lane and road closures on city streets and freeways.
  • Ensure compliance with city, county, state, and local municipalities' encroachment permits, as well as specialty permits (e.g., UPRR, Caltrans, Forest Service, BLM).
  • Work with governing jurisdictions to locate Right of Way (ROW) lines and understand easements and environmental permits.
  • Provide excellent project communication, responding to customer inquiries regarding design and placement.
  • Collaborate with drafting designers to create temporary traffic control setups.
  • Maintain quality control/assurance standards to ensure project success.
Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • 2+ years of Traffic Control Plan Drafting experience, particularly in telecom or utility projects.
    • 2+ years of experience using AutoCAD for drafting traffic control plans.
    • Knowledge of easements, ROW, and basic traffic engineering principles for temporary traffic control.

  • Preferred:
    • Experience using RapidPlan for traffic control design.
    • Familiarity with ArcGIS or QGIS for geographic mapping and analysis.
Pay Rate:
$22.00 - $32.00 per hour
Employment Term:
6 Months Temp-to-Direct
