Job Description


We have an immediate opening for a Tool Designer in Canton, GA.  
As a Tool Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of tools and fixtures used in the aerospace industry. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the precision, reliability, and safety of these tools, which are essential for the production, assembly, maintenance, and repair of aircraft and spacecraft components

Required:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred but candidates without a degree may be considered if they have years of relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience
  • CATIA is a must-have
  • Familiarity with aerospace materials, manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, composite tooling, additive manufacturing), and industry standards (e.g., AS9100).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to solve complex technical problems.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies is advantageous.
 

Job Details: 
  1. Design and Development:
  2. Utilize CATIA to create detailed designs of tooling and fixtures according to aerospace industry standards and specifications.
  3. Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into functional designs.
  4. Conduct feasibility studies and analyze design concepts for performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
  5. Manufacturing Support:
  6. Provide technical support during the manufacturing process, collaborating with machinists, technicians, and suppliers to ensure accurate fabrication of tooling components.
  7. Create detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation to facilitate production and assembly.
  8. Quality Assurance:
  9. Establish quality standards and procedures for tooling inspection and testing to ensure compliance with aerospace regulations and safety guidelines.
  10. Continuous Improvement:
  11. Identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements in tooling design and manufacturing processes.
  12. Stay updated on advancements in aerospace technology, materials, and manufacturing techniques to incorporate into tooling designs.
  13. Project Management:
  14. Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time and on-budget completion of tooling development projects.
  15. Communicate progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders, including engineering teams, management, and clients.
