Job Description

Selectek is working with a telecommunications firm with an opportunity for a Telecom Drafter. The focus of the role will be transforming initial rough product designs into working documents using computer aided design (CAD). The candidate will review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. The role will collaborate with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs.

Required:
  •  Ideally looking for someone with 1-5 years of OSP Fiber underground drafting experience (Highly preferred, but utility experience will be considered as well)
  • AutoCAD Proficiency
Preferred:
  • Degree in CAD/GIS/Civil
  • QGIS experience

Sponsorship: No, must be U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
Pay range: $23/hour - $25/hour ($47,000 - $52,000 annual base salary)
Term of assignment: 6 months contract to direct
Pay method when direct: Hourly eligible for OT pay
Location of job: Overland Park, KS
Hours and shift: Monday – Friday; Flexible start time - 8 hour days
Work from home: Yes, but employees will be expected to work within the office during the first 6 months or so while they are training and learning about the company. Once the employee is up and running at 6 months at the expected rate (meeting quotas), they will have the option to work from home or a mix of home and office. They do need to know that there will still be times or circumstances where they will be required to come into the office, so they will need to still be in the Greater KC Area.
Working remote: No, they want them to be local and able to come into the office when needed.
Overtime expected: No
Travel: Very minimal
Work attire: Casual - Jeans and T-shirts are fine as long as they are not offensive, stained, ripped, etc
