Tax Map Specialist (New Jersey Focus)

We are seeking an experienced Tax Map Specialist to join our multidisciplinary civil engineering team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in municipal digital tax map construction for New Jersey clients.

The successful candidate will bring deep familiarity with New Jersey tax map regulations and AutoCAD, as well as the ability to interpret surveys, deeds, and other property-related documents. You’ll work collaboratively with clients and project teams to produce precise and compliant digital tax maps that meet state standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain digital municipal tax maps in compliance with NJ Division of Taxation Digital Tax Map Standards
  • Interpret and integrate data from surveys, deeds, file maps, and MOD-IV records
  • Collaborate with municipal and county clients to ensure map accuracy and updates
  • Apply land surveying principles in support of mapping and boundary clarification
  • Ensure all deliverables meet applicable New Jersey state and local regulations
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience constructing New Jersey tax maps using AutoCAD
  • In-depth understanding of NJ Tax Map Regulations and NJ MOD-IV system
  • Experience interpreting surveys, deeds, and file maps
  • Knowledge of land surveying fundamentals
  • Demonstrated ability to interface directly with clients during mapping projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in cartography, GIS, or municipal mapping using AutoCAD
  • Experience in a civil, surveying, or land development environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in mapping documentation
