Job Description
A Structural Steel Detailer to be responsible for creating shop and erection drawings using AutoCAD and Tekla Structures.
Required:
Required:
- Proficiency using AutoCAD
- Prior experience or at least exposure to Tekla Structures
- Solid knowledge and understanding of AISC and AWS codes
- Knowledge of ASTM codes is desired
- 2+ years’ experience drafting/detailing structural steel
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings (plans, sections, details)
- Prepare and issue requests for information (RFI) to clarify conflicting or missing information
- Prepare erecting plans to show pieces to be installed in an overall plan
- Prepare shop drawings to issue to shop environment for fabrication
- Prepare computer generated files for export into other software for further use by other departments
