Position: Structural Engineer (Contract to Hire)
Location: Pelham or Tuscaloosa, AL
Selectek has an opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join a Structural Design firm, with responsibilities spanning coordination, design, and proposal submissions for a diverse array of structural engineering projects. This role involves working with various materials, including steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and review structural design work, including developing design criteria, performing calculations, and creating drawings and specifications.
- Ensure quality assurance, code compliance, and proper permitting, while also conducting engineering studies, inspections, and structural investigations.
- Analyze surveys, borings, and foundation designs, providing expert recommendations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues and ensure the successful development, status tracking, and delivery of projects.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, working closely with a team of engineers to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering (BSCE) with a strong focus on structural engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural design across various materials (steel, concrete, wood, masonry) and project management.
- EIT or PE licensure is preferred.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., RISA, STAAD) is required.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is essential.
