Job Description
Selectek has an immediate need for a Structural Engineer in the Alexandria, VA area.
Required:
- 1-8 years of experience in structural engineering design
- Bachelors Degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering from ABET Accredited University
- EIT Certification
- Proficiency in Revit
- Interest in renovation and rehabilitation
- Experience with a variety of design and modeling programs including Bentley products (RAM Steel, RAM Concept, Elements etc.)
- Experience designing with a variety of materials including steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and familiarity with applicable codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, etc.).
- Versatility and the ability to work on several projects simultaneously
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience with renovation and rehab projects
Job Description:
- Work on a wide range of new and existing building design projects including but not limited to: Commercial, Retail, Government, Hospitality, Education, Multi-Family and Historic.
- Work within a team structure on larger projects and also manage projects.
- Engineering analysis and design of new and existing structures.
- 50% in-field work including site visits, building assessments, and garage surveys.
Job Order Details:
The position is an even split between field work (site visits, building assessments, garage surveys, etc.) and more traditional engineering work in the office. This person will not be doing new building design. It will be more tenant fit outs, renovations, garage surveys, etc

Pay Range: $33/hour - $41/hour ($70,000 - $85,000 annual salary)
Term of assignment: 6 months temp to perm OR direct hire
Pay method when direct: Salary
Location of Job: Alexandria, VA 22314
Hours & Shift: Monday - Friday: At some point, can be flexible as long as they work 40 hours. Core hours are 9-5
Work from home: Hybrid; Minimum of 3 days working in the office
