Structural Engineer, Industrial / RISA
(Greater Phoenix, AZ):
We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Structural Engineer working on industrial and advanced technology projects for a growing and expanding engineering consulting company in the Phoenix area.
The Structural Engineer Responsibilities Include:
* Overall, support and create of construction documents and engineering studies for a variety of industrial and manufacturing facilities design-build and renovation projects and advanced technology projects
* Perform analysis, design, and documentation for a wide range of steel structural systems including equipment support/mounting, seismic design, conduit, piping, ductwork, platforms, stairways, etc.
* Produce and prepare construction documents, specifications, reports, and other documentation and analysis
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
* B.S. Degree, Structural Engineering or similar engineering or technical discipline
* PE License or ability to obtain license in a short time frame
* 5+ years of industrial facilities structural systems design, development, documentation, and engineering experience
* Working knowledge and proficiency with RISA
* Knowledge and proficiency with building, industry, and local codes particularly IBC and ASCE 7

John is originally from the Tidewater Virginia area and moved to Georgia for college where he majored in Electronics Engineering Technology. For fifteen years, he worked in television news broadcast engineering where he worked his way into technical project management until a layoff. After a few years operating a small business franchise, he found his way into an engineering and technical recruiting career where he could apply his technical and customer service backgrounds in a new industry for the next fifteen plus years to present day. His education and work experience as a technical project manager provides him unique insight into a variety of roles and success in finding great candidates for his clients. His career in technology, technical management, and technical staffing spans 25+ years.
When John found himself looking for a new opportunity, his search led to him joining the Selectek team in June 2021.
John lives in North Metro Atlanta where he spends his time with his wife and daughter. They enjoy kayaking on area lakes, hiking, bicycling, and all things pets and animals.
