Job Description

Position: Structural Drafter/Designer (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Pelham or Tuscaloosa, AL

Overview:
Join a leading Structural Engineering Firm as a Structural Drafter/Designer. Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to support project engineers in designing commercial and residential building projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Support: Create structural plans and drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Project Assistance: Assist senior engineers in planning and designing building projects.
  • Coordination: Address redline comments and coordinate design elements.
  • Documentation: Prepare construction documents, including design and material specifications.
  • Calculations: Assist in structural computations and material quantity estimates.
  • Detailing: Prepare layouts, drawings, and diagrams with necessary dimensions.
  • Integration: Coordinate structural dimensions with architectural requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate’s Degree in Drafting or Technical Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years in structural drafting for commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of commercial construction practices.
