Structural Designer, Industrial / Steel / Concrete
(Burlington, WI area)
We have a great career opportunity for a Structural Designer working for a growing industrial engineering solution company in Burlington Wisconsin.
The Structural Designer Responsibilities Include:
- Overall, responsible for drafting, design, detailing, and documentation for industrial conveyor and bulk material handling systems, equipment, structures, foundations
- Coordinate and collaborate with engineering and project leaders to deliver accurate designs within project requirements, specifications, and scope
- Perform, create, and optimize structural and foundation designs for industrial machinery, equipment, components, mounting systems
- Support and create structural engineering and construction documentation including elevations, floor level / layouts, connections, member sizes, cross sections, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- A.S. Degree/Diploma or Vocational-Technical School or Equivalent Experience
- Working knowledge and proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, or Advance Steel
- 3+ years of structural steel drafting, design, detailing, and documentation experience

John is originally from the Tidewater Virginia area and moved to Georgia for college where he majored in Electronics Engineering Technology. For fifteen years, he worked in television news broadcast engineering where he worked his way into technical project management until a layoff. After a few years operating a small business franchise, he found his way into an engineering and technical recruiting career where he could apply his technical and customer service backgrounds in a new industry for the next fifteen plus years to present day. His education and work experience as a technical project manager provides him unique insight into a variety of roles and success in finding great candidates for his clients. His career in technology, technical management, and technical staffing spans 25+ years.
When John found himself looking for a new opportunity, his search led to him joining the Selectek team in June 2021.
John lives in North Metro Atlanta where he spends his time with his wife and daughter. They enjoy kayaking on area lakes, hiking, bicycling, and all things pets and animals.
