Job Description
Selectek has an immediate opportunity for a Sr. Controls Engineer in Germantown, WI. In this role, you will develop, design, and test electrical pneumatic and hydraulic components, equipment, and systems. This position allows for flexible start times and working days along with generous overtime and paid time off.

Pay and Wages: $42 - $52/hr depending on skills and experience

Duties & Description:
- Design electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls equipment and systems, specifies components, programs, and field commissions systems and machinery for the converting industry
- Draft using SolidWorks Electrical and AutoCAD for schematics and layouts for controls, instruments, and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Utilize computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform design and documentation tasks, including bill of materials, CAD drawings, interconnect spreadsheets, and operator manual documents
- Assist with activities to ensure that design, manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements
- Develops software programs for control systems and machinery, including programming PLC’s, operator interfaces, and drives
- Troubleshoot hardware and software systems
- Research new products and parts
- Act as lead engineer on most assigned projects and assist level I, II, and service engineers
- Design and direct engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determine methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products
- Direct and coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in floor or field installations
- Provide operator training to customers on the machinery
- Perform field startup of equipment and field service calls
- Work with customers to resolve technical issues and concerns
- Assist the CSI Manager in providing technical direction and component selection for Controls Engineers and department standards
- Provide estimates of electrical engineering content and proposed architectures for future projects in place of the CSI Manager when necessary
- Assist CSI Manager and Sales with customer meetings and sales presentations
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years relevant experience
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%
- Knowledge and experience programming Rockwell PLC’s (Studio 5000) & Rockwell HMI’s (FactoryTalk View ME)
- Familiar with the National Electric Code (NFPA 70) and the Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery (NFPA 79)
- Schematics design (AutoCAD or SolidWorks Electrical)
- Ability to specify controls parts for a machine (BOM)
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of control panel layout design
- Manual technical writing experience
- Hardware and software troubleshooting skills
