Job Description

A Specification Writer to work closely with the company's team of design professionals on a variety of exciting project types which may include science and technology, commercial office, higher education, and performing arts.

Required:
  • Professional Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) certification is preferred.
  • Architectural license a plus but not required.
  • 5 to 10+ years of relevant experience with a minimum of 5 years in specifications development.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in specifications software programs such as Speclink preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, MS Project, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Leads the specifications writing and management for multiple projects.
  • Continual development and improvement of master specifications.
  • Works as a collaborative member of a team to assist staff in thce preparation of contract documents, material and system constructability analysis, and product research.
  • Good working knowledge of building codes, construction materials, and techniques.
  • Participates in QA/QC reviews and technical advice throughout the design process.
  • Acts as a risk management resource to other project leaders.
  • Assists project architects with shop drawing and product substitution review.
Salary Range: $65k/yr. - $95k/yr.
