Job Description


Needed immediately: A BIM/VDC role in the Atlanta, GA metro area.  In this role you will support major construction projects across the greater Atlanta area. BIM/VDC is a key driver of project success by reducing rework, improving safety through planning, enabling prefabrication, and ensuring the field has what it needs to build confidently. If you love turning complex design into real-world solutions, you’ll thrive in this role.

Required:
  • 3+ years of experience in BIM/VDC modeling for electrical construction or design/build environments (level flexible based on title)
  • Proficiency in BIM/VDC tools, such as:
    • Autodesk Revit (required)
    • Solidworks (Required)
    • Navisworks Manage (for clash detection/coordination)
  • Ability to interpret engineered drawings, specifications, and coordination requirements
    • Extrapolate necessary information from equipment submittals or vendor websites and cutsheets
  • Experience producing shop drawings/spools and supporting prefabrication or field installation (preferred)
  • Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
  • Field experience or prior electrical trade background
  • Relevant certifications (Autodesk, BIM/VDC training, etc.)
  • Additionnel software and programming
    • ON Shape
    • Revit API / Dynamo / C# / Python


 

As a BIM / VDC DFMA Steel Design professional, you will:
  • Create, maintain, and coordinate Steel components to electrical BIM models 
  • Produce high-quality shop drawings, spooling sheets, and installation deliverables from coordinated models that also align with our company’s safety culture
  • Work with BIM/VDC in to ensure steel design doesn’t clash with coordinated model
  • Translate design intent into constructible, field-ready layouts 
  • Support prefabrication efforts by providing accurate model-based spools and material-driven outputs
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to align modeling priorities with field needs and safety factors or concerns
  • Review contract documents (drawings/specs) and assist with RFI identification, constructability questions, project/schedule constraints, and solution development
  • Maintain model standards and file management per project BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and internal requirements

Track and publish coordination updates, model milestones, and deliverable
 

In Solidworks, you will:
Provide spool drawings for manufacturing.

Basically, producing couple different items from solid works and pretty much all the steel that is designed to allow for prefab conduit and equipment.

Steel around underground conduit for us to prefab the conduit on stands

Steel design that can be used to support electrical equipment

Solid works design for boxes.

Design would also include crates and skateboards
