Remote contract Senior Piping Designer – Cincinnati, OH
As a Sr. Piping Designer, you will review vendor drawings, execute piping engineering design, and develop design estimates. Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on projects involving state of the art industrial and pharmaceutical facilities. In this role, you will lead projects with multi-office execution, schedule assigned tasks, and effectively recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly. Your multi-discipline, highly interactive team will review vendor drawings, execute piping engineering design, and develop design estimates. You will utilize your technical expertise to mentor other professionals, helping your team discover what drives them, nurturing their purpose and guiding them forward.

Pay and Wages: $55 - $66/hour depending on education and experience
Overtime: 50% hourly rate – minimally required

Job Description
Remote contract Senior Piping Designer – Cincinnati, OH
As a Sr. Piping Designer, you will review vendor drawings, execute piping engineering design, and develop design estimates. Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on projects involving state of the art industrial and pharmaceutical facilities. In this role, you will lead projects with multi-office execution, schedule assigned tasks, and effectively recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly. Responsibilities:
- Review order requirements for actual and forecasted sales
- Design components of systems and modify existing designs for development/improvement
- Utilize computer-aided design equipment/graphic tools
- Responsible for assisting with the drafting/design effort on projects under supervision of more senior designers or engineers
- Gather information, make studies, perform calculations, and prepare original rough layouts/sketches to present design proposal
- Coordinate design criteria with engineering, tooling, material, and planning group in accordance with contractual specifications
- Perform routine tasks under close supervision using well-defined standards and procedures
- Assist supervisor in accomplishing field design work to ascertain current conditions, locate new systems and communicate with client personnel
- Lead a section or group of designers/drafters, usually on a single project in a specialized field
- Obtain thorough understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered
- Execute work within approved budgets, develop progress reports, interface with clients and direct he efforts of lesser experienced designers/drafters
- Interacts with clients and internal personnel
Requirements:
- Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or similar technical degree
- 15+ years piping design experience
- Advanced working knowledge of piping design 2D/3D modeling software (Hexagon Smartplant S3D, Autodesk Plant 3D)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
- Display ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multidisciplinary teams
- Site work and periodic travel may occasionally be required
