Senior Mechanical Engineer – Semiconductor Facilities
Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)

We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team supporting one of the most advanced semiconductor facilities in the world. This is a fully onsite role located in Northern Phoenix, offering the chance to lead complex mechanical design efforts for a multi-billion-dollar project.
Why This Role?
You’ll play a central role in designing, engineering, and delivering highly specialized mechanical systems within cleanroom and contamination-controlled environments. This position allows you to work on cutting-edge projects, mentor developing engineers, and directly impact the success of high-tech manufacturing clients.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical system design for semiconductor tool installations, including utility matrices and point-of-use (POU) connections (PCW, exhaust, gases, drains).

  • Design, analyze, and specify complex HVAC systems for cleanrooms and semiconductor manufacturing spaces.

  • Engineer advanced process cooling/heating systems and ultra-pure water (UPW) networks.

  • Develop specialized exhaust systems for hazardous production materials (HPMs).

  • Perform thermodynamic, hydraulic, and psychrometric analyses to optimize performance.

  • Ensure all designs meet strict codes, standards, and client-specific safety/EHS requirements.

  • Coordinate closely with interdisciplinary teams (electrical, structural, chemical, controls, architectural).

  • Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, and start-up.

  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited).

  • Active PE license in Arizona (or ability to obtain reciprocity promptly).

  • Significant mechanical engineering experience in semiconductor, cleanroom, or high-tech industrial projects.

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, process mechanical systems, UPW, PCW, and exhaust design.

  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic modeling software (PIPE-FLO, AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, etc.).

  • In-depth knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA (HPM focus), IMC, and SEMI standards.

  • Proven ability to conduct detailed field verifications and troubleshoot design/construction issues.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred

  • Experience with Revit.

  • Prior design-build or fast-track project delivery experience in semiconductor facilities.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $110,000 – $150,000+ (DOE; higher considered for >10 years + management experience)
Health, dental, and vision insurance
Life insurance
401K with company match
PTO and paid holidays
Professional development & licensure/certification support
Work Environment

  • Onsite at a $20B+ semiconductor facility in Northern Phoenix.

  • Office located directly on campus with 15–40 employees, interfacing daily with client and cross-discipline engineering teams.

  • Opportunity to work on one of the largest and most advanced semiconductor fabs in the U.S., designing full-scale building mechanical systems (HVAC, chillers, boilers, exhaust, etc.) rather than just individual components.
