Senior Electrical Engineer – Data Center Design
Locations: Charlotte, NC | Atlanta, GA | Tampa, FL | Detroit, MI

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Data Center design to join a growing, innovative design engineering firm. This is an exciting opportunity to lead large-scale projects and contribute to cutting-edge infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of electrical design solutions for complex projects
  • Provide technical design support to the engineering team
  • Prepare schematic designs, construction documents, and specifications in compliance with project requirements
  • Coordinate designs with other disciplines, manufacturers, and vendors
  • Conduct field surveys and site observations
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of construction documents and interdisciplinary coordination
Qualifications:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license; NCEES Accredited
  • Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience, including large-scale Data Center projects
  • Experience designing MV (34.5 kV) power distribution systems and general understanding of HV design
  • Strong knowledge of conductors, conduits, and ground sizing per NEC requirements
  • Proficient in load calculations, demand factors, fault current, and voltage drop calculations
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit required
  • Experience preparing Arc Flash studies and Breaker Coordination Analyses
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
  • Strong knowledge of model codes, particularly NFPA codes
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail
  • Self-directed and able to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Work Environment:
  • Hybrid work environment with the requirement to be in-office when not traveling
