Job Description
Our client is currently seeking a Quoting Technician.
Summary:
- The Quoting Technician will prepare quotations based on customer blueprints and/or samples using established procedures.
- The Quoting Technician also creates bill of material, routing information and is responsible for final sample part approvals.
- The quotes will be prepared mostly in Excel using pivot tables and lookup tables.
- The role will be fast paced, and candidates should feel comfortable being flexible and managing the process from start to finish.
- Quote preparation including labor steps and identifying material needed to manufacture parts.
- Communicate directly with customers to obtain the necessary specifications needed to prepare a quote.
- Communicate directly with vendors to receive raw material quotes.
- Work closely with production staff to ensure that all necessary tooling and materials are in house before the start of production.
- Prepare the Bill of Material for production flow and continuously update material and labor time.
- Prepare Detailed Assembly Instructions for use in the production process.
- Inspect and approve all sample parts from the production floor.
- Ability to create and use Excel Pivot Tables and VLookups
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong communication skills
- 1+ year of estimating/quoting experience
- Knowledge of AutoCAD
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- 4th Shift ERP System knowledge
Pay Rate:
- $19/hr
