Project Manager – Construction (Educational & Commercial Projects)
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead multiple building projects from start to finish. This role is responsible for ensuring construction projects are completed in accordance with contract documents and plans, within budget, and on schedule. Project Managers typically manage six to eight projects at a time, primarily supporting educational and commercial construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing the full lifecycle of construction projects and be familiar with multiple project delivery methods, 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage client needs and expectations throughout the project lifecycle by conducting regular progress meetings and maintaining open communication
  • Coordinate with all relevant stakeholders during all phases of design and construction
  • Review and respond to project correspondence, including letters, progress reports, and testing/lab results
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Participate in and support project team meetings
  • Manage the change order process
  • Monitor design and construction progress to ensure project milestones are met
  • Oversee project closeout in accordance with established procedures
  • Attend and participate in pre?bid conferences with design professionals and contractors
  • Anticipate stakeholder needs and manage the flow of information and project funding accordingly
  • Continually monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve potential issues
  • Fully understand and manage obligations under project design, construction, and consulting contracts
  • Participate in competitive selection of testing consultants and other third?party vendors as assigned
  • Manage internal and external administrative processes related to project startup, maintenance, and closeout
  • Maintain project files according to established guidelines
  • Manage amendments to design professional contracts
  • Handle end?user requests for program changes and additional work
  • Recommend process improvements to standard operating systems based on project outcomes
  • Manage design professional, construction professional, and third?party claims
Financial Responsibilities
  • Review and obtain approval for all requests for payment
  • Assist with the development and management of project budgets
  • Validate and process contractor pay applications, architect invoices, and vendor invoices
  • Assess and report financial risks
  • Approve project schedules, schedules of values, wage rates, and rental rates
  • Verify project budgets and funding sources
  • Manage release of retained earnings upon project completion
  • Oversee final disbursement of project funds and closeout of project financials
  • Ensure projects remain within departmental budget
  • Maintain required administrative documentation including expense reports and time tracking
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction, or Construction Management from an accredited university
    or an Associate’s degree with relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Quality Assurance Manager on educational or commercial construction projects
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • Valid Driver’s License
