Location: Atlanta, GA

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Construction Project Manager to lead complex educational and commercial construction projects from inception through completion.

About the Company:
This full-service firm is involved in design and construction management for a wide range of public sector and institutional buildings. The team is known for its collaborative culture, reasonable hours, and high standards of professionalism. With projects that include higher education facilities, college campuses, conference centers, prisons, and more, you'll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on large-scale, community-driven work.

About the Role:
The Project Manager will oversee 6–8 construction projects at a time, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to plans and contract documents. The ideal candidate will have prior experience across multiple project delivery methods—particularly design-bid-build, design-build, and CM@Risk—and will be comfortable working as either an Owner’s Rep or General Contractor.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight & Communication

  • Lead and coordinate all phases of design and construction

  • Conduct periodic progress meetings with stakeholders and using agencies

  • Troubleshoot challenges proactively and adjust plans as needed

  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle

Documentation & Coordination

  • Review and respond to RFIs, shop drawings, and construction correspondence

  • Manage project change orders and track project scope modifications

  • Conduct pre-bid conferences and facilitate regular project meetings

  • Ensure project files are maintained in accordance with firm guidelines

  • Coordinate with contractors, designers, clients, and internal teams

Financial & Contract Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets

  • Review and approve pay applications, vendor invoices, and schedules

  • Monitor financial risks and manage project fund disbursements

  • Close out projects in compliance with internal and external requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field

  • 2+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects

  • Familiarity with design-bid-build, design-build, and CM@Risk delivery methods

  • Experience as an Owner's Representative or with a General Contractor

  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities

  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Background:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Architectural, or Electrical Engineering

  • Experience with mechanically intensive buildings is a plus

  • Exposure to higher education, civic, or institutional construction preferred

  • Familiarity with project management platforms like Ebuilder is a bonus, but not required

  • Candidates with residential or healthcare/lab experience only are not a fit for this role

Why Apply?

  • Work-life balance: Minimal overtime with flexibility on travel days

  • Join a team that values collaboration and transparency

  • Be part of projects that impact communities, campuses, and public institutions

  • Grow your career managing meaningful, large-scale projects with a reputable team
