Location: Ames, IA

Are you a detail-oriented and results-driven Project Manager with a passion for driving projects to successful completion?
We're seeking a talented Project Manager to join our team in Ames, IA. This role offers a competitive salary range of $70-$110K, based on your experience and education.

About the Role:
  • Order Auditing & Transition: Conduct thorough audits of incoming orders, ensuring accuracy and smooth transition to engineering.
  • Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, coordinating all project phases.
  • ERP System Management: Create sales orders and maintain product delivery dates in the company's ERP system.
  • Submittal & Procurement Management: Monitor the submittal approval process, equipment procurement, and production timelines.
  • Communication & Coordination: Ensure effective communication between operations, manufacturers, and customers.
  • Issue Resolution & Tracking: Proactively identify and resolve order issues, tracking project progress.
  • Job Margin Management: Maintain and increase positive job margins through project completion.
  • Engineering Support: Assist project engineers with communication with consulting engineers and contractors.
Who You Are:
  • Experienced Project Manager: You have 3+ years of experience in construction, engineering, or a related industry.
  • Electrical Field Knowledge: You possess basic experience and understanding of the electrical field.
  • Problem Solver: You are mechanically minded with excellent math aptitude.
  • Organized & Detail-Oriented: You are highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Results-Driven: You are results-oriented and able to manage people and tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent Communicator: You possess exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Self-Starter: You are a self-starter who works well with limited direction.
  • Computer Proficient: You are proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and have the ability to learn CRM, ERP, and project management systems.
Required Skills:
  • Basic understanding of the electrical field.
  • 3+ years of relevant construction, engineering, or similar experience.
  • Project management, purchasing, submittal review, and cost control experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and mathematical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Electrical technology degree or related field.
  • Experience in heavy civil or mechanical projects and/or the water/wastewater industry.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Competitive Salary: $70-$110K, based on experience and education.
