Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity with and established client for a Product Development Engineer that will work within the Design Engineering group to create new products for as well as provide support for existing products. This will include interpreting standards and performing development tests on new and existing high-voltage interrupters, mechanisms, control systems, and other projects based on customer needs.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Develop new high-voltage interrupters, mechanisms, and controls based on project specifications.
  • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for products using Solidworks.
  • Assist Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, and After-sales on projects in the areas of problem resolution, quality assurance, fit and finish, testing, and coordination.
  • Develop, conduct, and document Quality and Type tests.
  • Write assembly instructions, instruction books, and other quality documents.
  • Must be willing to occasionally travel, domestically and internationally, (5-10% of time) to customer sites and test labs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience with product development for mechanical equipment created for a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions.
  • Self-motivated and schedule orientated.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks.
