About the Role Selectek is seeking a Process Engineer with strong injection molding expertise to drive process optimization, new mold introduction, and continuous improvement for a growing manufacturer serving aerospace, pharma, automotive, medical, and other industries. This is a hands-on role with direct impact on cycle times, scrap reduction, uptime, and quality. The environment is collaborative and relaxed—great for someone who enjoys solving technical problems without high corporate pressure. Key Responsibilities
  • Own molding process development for new molds, including trials, DOE, and parameter optimization.

  • Conduct/oversee Arc Flash relevance to process equipment as needed (coordination with EHS/maintenance).
  • Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective actions using formal problem-solving and Lean/Six Sigma methods.
  • Support daily start-ups/restarts/shutdowns when development work is light.
  • Mentor process technicians; contribute to skills growth and cross-training.
  • Track and report area KPIs/metrics (scrap, OEE, downtime drivers, throughput).
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing, tool room, maintenance, quality, and engineering to meet customer demand and quality targets.
  • Ensure ISO procedures and quality plans are followed; promote a strong safety culture.
Team scope today: No direct reports initially; mentorship of techs is expected. As the site grows, leadership scope may increase. Required Qualifications
  • Proven proficiency with injection molding processing.
  • Experience with engineered and high-temperature resins.
  • Ability to interpret part prints, quality plans, and work instructions and apply them at the press.
  • Demonstrated use of formal problem-solving (e.g., 8D, PDCA, fishbone, Five Whys).
  • Ability to program robots and exchange end-of-arm tooling.
  • Working knowledge of CAD/SolidWorks and Moldflow (or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2008 and TS 16949:2009 (IATF 16949 exposure a plus).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for documentation and analysis.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean/Six Sigma training/certification (Green Belt or Black Belt).
  • Supervisory/lead experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Formal supervisory training.
What You’ll Love
  • Impact: Direct ownership of molding performance and new product/mold launches.
  • Growth: Company has doubled in size over the last three years; advancement opportunities as the team scales.
  • Culture: Relaxed, low-stress environment focused on practical results and continuous improvement.
  • Benefits: Negotiable package including 2–3 weeks PTO, 401(k), and relocation assistance.
Hiring Process & Requirements
  • Interviews: Local candidates typically 2 rounds; non-local: initial Teams, then onsite.
  • Assessments: Possible personality and/or CAD exercise.
