We are thrilled to present a captivating opportunity for a Senior Physical Substation Designer. In this role, you will be the creative force behind the development of cutting-edge substation designs, blending innovation with precision.

Position Overview:
As a Senior Physical Substation Designer, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of the Transmission and Distribution of electrical substations. Your mission is to transform ideas into reality, bringing substations to life through your 2D and 3D design prowess. With your expert skills in AutoCAD, Autodesk 3D Inventor, and Autodesk Map 3D, you will produce engineering drawings that set new standards in safety, quality, scheduling, and cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architectural Alchemy: Create and modify scaled 2D drawings and mesmerizing 3D models, crafting the physical elements of electrical substations. Your canvas will include Foundation Layouts, Grounding Layouts, Conduit Layouts, Switchgear Assembly Layouts, Substation Layouts, Switch House Layouts, Electrical Bus Design, and more.
  • Material Maestro: Specify and procure materials for substation projects, encompassing stock, non-stock, and custom-fabricated materials. Your keen eye for detail ensures that every component aligns seamlessly with the project's vision.
  • Transmission Virtuoso: Transmit drawing packages and supporting specifications through our cutting-edge Transmission Engineering job transmittal program. Your work will be the conduit that powers our progress.
  • Collaborative Conductor: Act as the bridge between the design team and engineers, fostering open communication and coordination. Your ability to harmonize these elements is essential for a successful composition.
  • Problem Solving Prodigy: Interact with manufacturers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot equipment and material challenges. Your solutions will keep the project on track and on budget.
  • Field Maestro: Embrace the adventure of site visits, from pre-construction meetings to post-construction assessments. Some overnight travel may be required as you bring your designs to life on location.
Requirements:
  • Design Virtuoso: 5+ years of experience in related industries, showcasing your design expertise.
  • Substation Savvy: A deep understanding of electrical substations, with hands-on experience in transmission and/or distribution substation operations for electric power utility firms.
  • Design Dynamo: Proficiency in creating substation physical drawings, including single-line and three-line diagrams, and the ability to manipulate 2D and 3D models for substations.
Compensation:
  • Salary: $26.00-$33.00 per hour
Contract Term:
  • 3 years
