Parts Sourcing Specialist – Machine Shop career opportunity available!

Location: Lake Forest, IL 60045
Pay: ~ +/- $30--$40/hr | ~ +/- $60k--$80k (Negotiable, based on experience)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM CST

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Parts Sourcing Coordinator with machine shop and estimating experience. This role involves sourcing parts, coordinating with outside vendors, and determining whether to produce components in-house or outsource them. The ideal candidate will manage pricing, delivery schedules, and data entry into the ERP system upon part arrival to ensure prompt production. Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Project Managers to prioritize quotes for machined parts
  • Obtain quotes from machine shops based on project specifications, including pricing and delivery
  • Enter and maintain part manufacturing processes in the ERP system
  • Coordinate vendor deliveries and track parts for project assembly
  • Manage spare part orders and close out work orders upon completion
  • Foster long-term vendor relationships for repeat business
  • Resolve print and tolerance questions with vendors
  • Communicate with the Production team to meet customer expectations
  • Perform job costing and maintain accurate project parts records

Required Skills and Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience in a machine shop (CNC or similar experience preferred)
  • Strong ERP system knowledge (Global Shop or equivalent preferred)
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal communication for collaboration with teams and vendors

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree
  • Experience with Global Shop ERP
