Parts Coordinator (Machining Estimator)

Location: Lake Forest, IL 60045
Pay: ~ +/- $30--$40/hr | $60k--$80k (Negotiable, based on experience)
Shift: Monday to Friday, ~ 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM CST

Position Overview:
Seeking a Parts Coordinator with experience in a machine shop and estimating. The ideal candidate will manage quotes, coordinate part deliveries, and maintain accurate ERP records for projects. This role requires working with external vendors and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions for machined parts.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Engineering and Project Managers to prioritize quotes for machined parts
Obtain quotes from machine shops per project specifications, including pricing and delivery
Enter and maintain part manufacturing processes in the ERP system
Coordinate vendor deliveries and track parts by project for assembly
Manage spare part orders and close out work orders upon completion
Foster long-term relationships with vendors for repeat business
Resolve questions regarding prints and tolerances with vendors
Ensure accurate communication with the Production team to meet customer expectations
Perform job costing and maintain accurate records for project parts

Required Skills and Experience:

2-5 years of experience in a machine shop environment (CNC or similar experience preferred)
Strong understanding of ERP systems (Global Shop or equivalent preferred)
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
Effective verbal communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and vendors

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree
Experience with Global Shop ERP
