Job Description

Our client is looking for an Industrial Maintenance Technician who is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC machines and related manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum up-time and production efficiency. This role focuses on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system support for CNC mills, lathes, and automated machining systems in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
CNC Machine Maintenance & Repair
  • Diagnose and repair CNC machine equipment including mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines.
  • Troubleshoot CNC control systems (Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Siemens, or similar).
  • Perform mechanical repairs including spindles, ball screws, way systems, tool changers, and gearboxes.
  • Support electrical troubleshooting of drives, motors, encoders, sensors, and control panels.
Preventative & Predictive Maintenance
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on CNC machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Inspect machines for wear, vibration, alignment, lubrication, and thermal issues.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and machine histories.
  • Recommend maintenance improvements to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
Electrical, Controls & Automation Support
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems include servo drives, VFDs, relays, and safety circuits.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and CNC alarms.
  • Provide basic PLC troubleshooting and I/O checks.
  • Support robot-tended or automated CNC cells as applicable.
Production & Shop Floor Support
  • Respond quickly to CNC machine breakdowns and production interruptions.
  • Work closely with machinists, programmers, and engineers to resolve issues.
  • Assist with CNC machine installation, relocation, and commissioning.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring issues.
Facility & Safety Support
  • Comply with all safety procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized maintenance area and shop environment.
  • Support general plant maintenance when required.

Required:
  • Diagnoses and repair CNC, Additive, and factory production equipment
  • Basic building maintenance
  •  Sustain a preventative maintenance plan
  • Coordinate with outside vendors for machine maintenance and repairs
  • Assist with installations of new equipment
  • Work to reduce unplanned down time by assessing equipment and establishing countermeasures
  • Maintain spare parts inventory levels to support high machine uptime
  • Track machine KPI’s, such as unplanned downtime, to help improve long term performance
  • Communicate equipment status within the organization.


Preferred:
  • Technical degree or certificate in Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Automation, or related course of study a plus but not required.
  • 3 years of experience in CNC, Additive, or similar plant maintenance
  • Experience trouble shooting PLC’s, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, professionalism, accountability, communication, and positive attitude. 
  • The ability to read blueprints and execute shop math
  • Strong work ethics and high attention to detail
