Job Description

Selectek is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with network hardware, protocols, security, and performance optimization across both LAN and WAN environments.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and support enterprise-level networking solutions (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs).
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Configure and maintain network infrastructure including Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or similar platforms.
  • Implement and maintain network security solutions, including firewalls, access control, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and external vendors to plan and execute network-related projects.
  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and procedures.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external security standards and policies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in network engineering or systems administration.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), and switching technologies (VLANs, STP).
  • Experience with Cisco IOS/NX-OS, firewall configuration (Palo Alto, Fortinet, or ASA).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.)
  • Understanding of cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Previous experience and being able to stage and configure equipment (switches, access points, others)
  • Being able to upgrade firmware on equipment (switches, access points, others)
  • Deep understanding on networking at various levels
  • Experience troubleshooting network connections and devices with customers face to face and under pressure
  • Being self-sufficient and self-motivated (candidate will work alone most of the time)
  • Good communication with clients contacts regarding network requirements and issues
  • CCNA equivalence certification
Pay Rate:  $40.86- $48.06
Term: 6-month temp to perm
