Job Description


We are currently seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to oversee the design and project management of industrial equipment and systems for the nonwovens and plastics sectors. This role will report to an engineering manager.

Candidates should have familiarity with selecting and utilizing drive components such as motors, reducers, bearings, and drives. The role will also require competence in performing engineering calculations for machine design, including statics, dynamics, and kinematics.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Conceptualize new equipment designs and adapt existing designs for new applications.
  • Produce detailed part, assembly, and layout drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Prepare technical documentation, project manuals, and reports.
  • Conduct engineering calculations and select purchased parts.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industrial standards and codes, adhering to best mechanical engineering practices.
  • Perform risk assessments of machinery in accordance with CE standards.
  • Communicate project status, outcomes, or challenges promptly and professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives within the engineering department.
  • Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality Control, Field Service, customers, and external vendors.
Required:
  • BSME or BSMET degree
  • Solidworks Proficiency
  • 3 plus years of Project Engineering experience for industrial equipment machine design
  • Sheet Metal Experience (highly preferred)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

Pay: $37.00-$45.00 DOE
Term: 6 months TTD
