Job Description
We have an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer in the Austin, TX area.
This is a full-time position and salary is estimated at $85-110K dependent on experience and education.
Required:
• Reads, analyzes and interprets project documents, instructions, proposals, specifications, and other important information to obtain a clear understanding of the project requirements for the semiconductor, pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
• Performs engineering calculations and Title 24 documentation,
• Design of HVAC, Process and Plumbing systems including equipment selection.
• Develops Basis of Design, Equipment data sheets, Equipment/Construction specifications, and Sequence of Operations for Mechanical systems.
• Coordinates system design to ensure continuity with other disciplines.
• Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Follows instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under general supervision.
• May act as a project engineer or project manager.
• May assist in the training and education of junior engineers

Required:
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
- P.E. License in the State of Texas, or the ability to obtain licensure in Texas within 6 months of employment if licensed in another state.
- Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience designing wet and dry HVAC Systems, Central Utility Plants, including Chilled and Condenser Water Systems, Hot Water and Steam Systems and Cleanroom Systems for the Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, Petroleum or related industries.
- Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with people of all levels of the company as well as customers and contractors.
- Must be proficient in the use of computers, MS Office products (Word, Excel, etc).
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu, MS Project, AutoCad and/or Revit will be considered an asset.

Nick was born and raised in the Rochester, New York area. In the early summer of 1998, after earning his BA in Communications from SUNY Oswego, he decided to take a 16 hour road trip to Atlanta, GA and see what all the fuss was about. Fast forward to 2020, Nick still resides in the Metro Atlanta area. NASCAR, the Atlanta Braves and homemade sweet tea may have had a slight influence on his decision to stay.
Nick has found the staffing industry to be a good match for his personality type. He gets paid to talk on the phone, take clients out to lunch and feels a true sense of pride when he can provide a viable solution to his client’s needs. He is excited to be a part of the Selectek family and enjoys the company of his co-workers.
When not in the office, Nick enjoys spending time with his family, playing in a Rec Soccer league and playing a few video games here and there.
