Selectek is partnering with a firm near Charlotte, NC to hire a highly-qualified Mechanical Designer into a multi-year contract position. Candidates will be focused on piping design and modeling for a company that specializes in nuclear-related projects. Expected Pay Range: $40-$60 per hour
Location: Charlotte, NC
This growing company near Charlotte works with large clients both domestic and international in the nuclear power and waste removal processes.
Job Duties:
- Develop and design piping and frame analysis
- Generate 2D plans and 3D models for complex piping systems
- Produce skid designs for a variety of project sizes and complexities
- Create manufacturing packages including data sheets, drawings and manufacturing specifications
- Oversee component development for waste management systems
- Perform accurate engineering calculations
- Understand the material requirements for complex piping and structural systems
- Coordinate with team members for installation plans
- Interact with clients and on-site team members throughout the project
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of two years (five preferred) of experience in the design and drafting field
- Associate’s (or two-year) degree in design or drafting technology
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Plant 3D and BIM 360 Design
- Skid design experience is crucial for this client
- Knowledge of weld symbols included on drawings
