Immediate Need! We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer located in Richmond, VA.

Rate: $75,000 – $90,000

Required:
  • Associate or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2+ years experience in manufacturing engineering
  • Proficient in SOLIDWORKS or Solid Edge
  • PMDWorks experience
  • Direct AutoCAD experience
  • Knowledge of the function and operation of mechanical hardware used for material handling systems
  • Ability to read and create mechanical drawings
Job Responsibilities:
  • Produce engineering design for projects including shop drawings, BOM & final documentation
  • Support Sales and R&D for all mechanical design and requirements
  • Work with vendors for outsourced components (steel, aluminum, wood)
  • Support of project installation onsite 
  • Participate in the design team to develop product designs
  • Create clear CAD drawings for customer presentations and production.
  • Generate Bills of Material
  • Coordinate with personnel from the controls, mechanical, and project management departments to meet the project specifications
  • Answer questions from Vendors and Fabricators
  • Resolve technical and schedule issues with other departments (e.g., make material substitutions to meet the schedule)
  • Update mechanical system documents to reflect “As-built” and “As-installed” conditions
  • Generate Operation and maintenance manuals.
