Job Description
Selectek is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who will be responsible for creating and maintaining AutoCAD drawings for customer projects and product development.

Sponsorship: No
Pay range: $24.04/hour - $36.06/hour ($50,000 - $75,000 annual salary)
Term of assignment: 6-month temp to perm
Pay method when direct: Salary
Location of job: Birmingham, AL
WFH/Remote: No
Hours & Shift: Monday to Friday, 8AM-5PM
Overtime: Some on occasion
Travel: No
Work attire: Business casual

Required:
- Strong design engineering and drafting skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient with AutoCAD LT software (other software acceptable but must learn AutoCAD LT).
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Managing multiple projects at once
- Be a positive self-starter with strong organizational skills
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating and maintaining AutoCAD drawings for customer projects and product development.
- Ability to design and draft electrical, mechanical, and control drawings.
- Establish a Bill of Materials for each project.
- Coordinate with the supervisor to ensure tasks are completed on time.
- Effective communication with the supervisor regarding the time needed for engineering tasks and when they will be fully completed.
- Should be a self-starter that has strong engineering skills so that tasks can be completed on time.
- Effective communication in meetings (phone or face-to-face) and in emails.
- Drawings/documentation must be effective in communicating details to the appropriate audience (for example, customer, machine shop, engineer, or technician accordingly)
- Ability to work on several projects in parallel that are in various phases as the position is 75% engineering/drafting.
- Work with the supervisor to discuss project details and assist in addressing questions.
- Responsible for ensuring all equipment sold is properly documented before shipment and saved correctly.
- Review, comment, and approve applicable submittal drawings.
- Design part drawings and create assembly drawings as needed with little supervision.
- Preparation of sales drawings as needed.
- Maintenance of document control for all in-house drawings and documents.

Lizzie is originally from a small town in South Georgia where she grew up on a farm. She then moved to the “big city” of Athens to attend The University of Georgia where she received her bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication. The courses she took cultivated her desire to connect with people and help others. This path led her to a sales and recruiting job with a company in Atlanta that took her to Pittsburgh and then back to Atlanta. Although she enjoyed the competitiveness of sales, recruiting was her passion. For the next three years, Lizzie honed her recruiting skills while working for a light industrial/manufacturing staffing company in Marietta, GA.
Lizzie joined Selectek in March of 2021. She brought with her a cumulative of nearly 9 years of recruiting experience. Her strong background and knowledge of recruiting gave her a great base for learning the ins and outs of engineering and architecture.
In her spare time, Lizzie spends time with her dogs (Jax, Tuck, and Birdie) and cat (Luna). She also enjoys cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs football team and visiting local wineries. She enjoys going on trips with her husband, Philip, and playing in a competitive cornhole league with him.
