Our client in Reno, NV (near the Walmart Distribution Center) is an industrial engineering company that has an exciting need for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. The Manufacturing Engineer is a multi-functional position focused on improving the safety, quality, and efficiency of their manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include preparing cost estimates, investigating and implementing improvements to existing manufacturing processes, trouble shooting of processes, supporting equipment qualification, reverse engineering of components.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Preparation of cost estimates.
  • Assists with reverse engineering of components.
  • Participates with investigations and implementations of continuous improvement projects for manufacturing processes concentrating in areas of equipment and processing.
  • Interfaces with all personnel to assure timely production support.
  • Optimizes manufacturing processes including production flow, machining/assembly methods, manning plan, tooling and production equipment for better safety, quality and efficiency.
  • Develops, maintains and continuously improves standardized operating instructions.
  • Plans and implements workplace layouts to optimize process, material flow and efficiency.
  • Maintains and analyzes technical KPIs, performs root cause analysis on production down events, and provides recommendations on productivity improvements.
  • Infrequent travel to customer sites and other locations.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering. (Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial)
  • 5 years as a manufacturing engineer for an industrial manufacturer developing work processes, preparing cost estimates, investigating and implementing improvements, troubleshooting processes, and other similar duties.
  • Manufacturing engineering experience with knowledge of machining and welding processes for Industrial Equipment
  • Working Knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD software

Payrate: $32.00 - $43.00 per hour (Depending on experience)

Term: 6 month Contract to Direct Hire
