Job Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance the efficiency of manufacturing operations. This role focuses on implementing cost-effective manufacturing solutions, supporting KPI improvements, and leading efforts such as 5S implementation and kaizen events. The ideal candidate will be hands-on and results-driven, with a strong background in improving labor costs, quality, and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a 5S program to improve workplace organization.
  • Lead kaizen events to drive continuous improvement and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Support plant operations to ensure KPI targets are consistently met.
  • Manage capital expenditure projects and equipment needs analysis.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing non-conformances.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, standard work, and process flows.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience in 5S implementation and kaizen leadership.
  • Ability to support plant operations and ensure KPI achievement.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including fabrication and assembly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly for root cause analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Limited travel required (10% or less).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Manufacturing) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, or quality engineering.
  • Experience with value stream mapping and mechanical assembly.
Location: Birmingham, AL
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $80,000+ per year (DOE) + 5% bonus
