Machining Engineer

Job Description

We are hiring for a Machining Engineer in the Smyrna, GA area.

We are looking for someone that loves hands-on machine work. We are open to recent engineering graduates, up to 3 years of experience working with Manual Lathes and CNC machining equipment.

Hourly Pay range is 20-27+/HR, relevant to experience and education.

100% paid Employee benefits and 70% for Family & Children!

General Duties:
Programming for CNC Machines
Generate Program for CNC high speed mill and CNC lathe on the machine controller and CAM.
 
CNC and Manual Machine Operation
Setup and operate CNC and manual machines for  molds parts and machine parts.
 
Mold Assembly
Assemble  molds for onsite trial and for customer request.
 
Mold Polishing
Polish  mold parts to our polishing standards.
 
Mold Modification
Work with molding techniques engineers and mold design engineer to successfully modify mold parts to meet customer requests.

Responsibilities:   
  • Programs mills, lathes, and EDM machines by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
  • Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
  • Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Maintain the machines and equipment for safety environment. Clean and organize machine shop for housekeeping.
Required: 
  •  Language, math, reasoning, computer, mechanical skills
  • Associate degree or one to three years related mechanical experience and/or training

Preferred:
  • Experience in CNC lathe and/or CNC high-speed machining centers is preferred.
  • Experience with G-code/M-code is preferred. Experience with Manual lathe, Manual mill, and surface grinding are preferred.          
  • Experience in Mold assembly, maintenance, polishing, and repair is preferred.
