Summary / Objective:
The Professional Licensed Surveyor will oversee and coordinate field and office survey activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality for all projects. Responsibilities include data collection, analysis, interpreting technical maps/drawings, supervising field crews, and contributing to the growth and success of the company. This role offers the flexibility to pursue technical or leadership tracks, including potential department management.
Principal Job Duties:
  • Adhere to all corporate and job site safety procedures.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating field survey work.
  • Ensure field activities comply with company standards, state statutes, and industry standards.
  • Conduct project research, boundary calculations, and maintain accurate survey records.
  • Collaborate with senior staff on technical decisions and project strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members regarding project details.
  • Oversee the use and maintenance of equipment, data collection, and preparation of notes and sketches.
  • Manage the maintenance and inventory of survey vehicles and equipment.
  • Prepare and review timesheets, data logs, and expense reports.
  • Provide feedback to leadership for performance evaluations.
  • Identify new business opportunities and cultivate client relationships.
  • Enhance professional knowledge through continuing education, publications, and industry events.
Requirements:
  • Education: Associate degree in surveying or related technical training required.
  • Certification: Registered Professional Surveyor license in West Virginia.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate a vehicle safely.
  • Advanced reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and public communication abilities.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office and relevant technical software.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings under different weather conditions.

  • Company Vehicle: Provided for fieldwork.
  • Relocation Assistance/Sign-On Bonus: Available for non-local candidates (specifics to be discussed).
  • Incentives: Quarterly and annual bonus plan (up to 13% of annual base salary).

Location: Morgantown, WV

Base Salary: $90,000-$110,000 annually, plus quarterly/annual bonus plan incentives (up to an additional 13% of annual base).
