Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Electrical Engineer with a growing, debt-free consulting firm in Roswell, GA. This firm specializes in Architecture, MEP, Structural, Civil, and Transportation Engineering and supports national clients across commercial sectors including hotels, restaurants, warehouses, and office buildings. The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineer ready to lead projects and provide design and production support for power and lighting systems on both transportation and commercial facility projects.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering and plan production efforts for electrical systems on commercial and transportation projects

  • Develop detailed construction plans including electrical layouts, lighting designs, panel schedules, and specifications

  • Use AutoCAD and Revit to create and manage construction drawings and electrical system designs

  • Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, interior designers, and other engineering disciplines

  • Attend project meetings, assess client needs, present concepts, and adjust designs to meet requirements

  • Conduct site visits, perform field data collection, and oversee quality control of deliverables

  • Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings during the construction phase

  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams and external clients

  • Prepare technical specifications and written design narratives

  • Contribute to project fee development and proposal efforts

  • Bonus: Experience with special systems (Telecom, PA, AV, Security) is a plus
Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required

  • 10+ years of experience with plan production for commercial or transportation electrical projects

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience leading building design or transportation facility projects is highly preferred
Additional Information:

  • Job Type: 6-month temp-to-direct (TTD preferred; DP considered if needed)

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm with flexible start between 6–9am

  • Location: Roswell, GA – Hybrid (3 days in-office)

  • Travel: ~10% (occasional site visits with a senior engineer)

  • Overtime: Paid straight time when direct; minimal OT expected

  • Work Attire: Business casual (jeans and golf shirt acceptable)
