Position Overview:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and field evaluation of replacement parts for rotary dryers, kilns, grinder mills, and other rotating equipment. This is a hands-on role that blends CAD-based design with real-world equipment assessments at client sites.
Responsibilities:

  • Create layout and assembly drawings for steel parts using Inventor or SolidWorks

  • Travel to client sites (up to 25%) to inspect existing rotary equipment and gather field data

  • Design custom replacement parts based on evaluations and performance needs

  • Collaborate with internal teams on design feasibility and production support

  • Use Excel to assist with data analysis and part specifications

  • Draft detailed technical reports and documentation
Required Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer

  • Proficient with Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks

  • Strong mathematical skills

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Strong written communication and report writing ability
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of statics, dynamics, materials science, thermodynamics, and heat transfer

  • Experience in machine design or work with rotating machinery

  • Field experience inspecting or maintaining mechanical systems
Additional Details:

  • Background check (7 years) and 10-panel drug screen required

Location: Louisville, KY
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible for 7–4 or 9–6)
Employment Type: 6-month temp-to-direct
Pay Range: $26–$28/hour (Estimated $50K–$58K upon direct hire)
Travel: Up to 25%
Work Environment: Onsite | Business Casual
