Job Description
Selectek is searching for an Intern Architect in the Birmingham, AL area.
Requirements:
- Participation in design and documentation phases of building projects
- Development of permit sets, sketches, and other documentation during manufacturing and construction phases
- Working with lead Architects to support projects during permitting and construction phases
- Coordination with outside vendors and consultants in building development and problem-solving efforts
- Management and direction of Junior Architects
- Coordination of vendor supplied parts and material for incorporation into building manufacture and construction
- Site plan development and designs for prototype building projects
Preferences:
- 4-6 years of experience
- Architectural degree or related field
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
- Interest in modular construction
- Proficiency with parametric workflows and scripting a plus
- Familiarity with CNC toolsets and workflow

Lizzie is originally from a small town in South Georgia where she grew up on a farm. She then moved to the “big city” of Athens to attend The University of Georgia where she received her bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication. The courses she took cultivated her desire to connect with people and help others. This path led her to a sales and recruiting job with a company in Atlanta that took her to Pittsburgh and then back to Atlanta. Although she enjoyed the competitiveness of sales, recruiting was her passion. For the next three years, Lizzie honed her recruiting skills while working for a light industrial/manufacturing staffing company in Marietta, GA.
Lizzie joined Selectek in March of 2021. She brought with her a cumulative of nearly 9 years of recruiting experience. Her strong background and knowledge of recruiting gave her a great base for learning the ins and outs of engineering and architecture.
In her spare time, Lizzie spends time with her dogs (Jax, Tuck, and Birdie) and cat (Luna). She also enjoys cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs football team and visiting local wineries. She enjoys going on trips with her husband, Philip, and playing in a competitive cornhole league with him.
