Selectek is seeking an experienced Industrial or Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Ft. Payne, AL. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in the manufacturing engineering environment, preferably in the automotive industry, with a focus on lean manufacturing, process improvement, and line studies.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive continuous improvement activities using Kaizen methodology to reduce waste and improve operational metrics such as downtime, scrap, and productivity.
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis and ROI calculations to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze downtime data and propose solutions for increased productivity.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and the Maintenance Department to support production improvements.
  • Develop labor calculations and capacity planning models to optimize resource allocation and production bottlenecks.
  • Conduct elemental time studies to streamline processes.
  • Draft and design equipment, material, and workspace layouts using AutoCAD to maximize efficiency.
  • Report regularly to senior management on program status and critical issues.
  • Understand plant equipment mechanics to enhance production, quality, and testing capabilities.
  • Develop quote models for new programs, including labor and equipment cost analysis.
  • Validate new packaging designs and oversee seamless program implementation.
  • Design innovative packaging concepts to reduce part damage and minimize costs.
  • Implement action plans to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Promote teamwork, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and ensure proper employee training.
  • Assist other employees and adapt to customer needs to ensure operational success.

Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, automation, or the automotive industry.
  • Proven expertise in line studies, including building and optimizing production lines.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
