Job Description
Selectek is seeking a skilled Industrial Piping and Instrument (P&ID) Drafter for a long-term contract to direct hire opportunity. This position is located south of Tallahassee, Florida. The successful candidate will join our team with the potential to transition to a direct hire role next year as a senior-level designer retires.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize thorough knowledge of general drafting procedures to create and modify Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&IDs).
- Conduct walk downs, including the identification and field sketching of existing installations.
- Work independently and under supervision for the markup and preparation of P&IDs.
- Read and understand existing plant drawings, including equipment, structural steel, concrete, and site work.
- Collaborate with design supervisors and team leads to meet project scope, schedule, and drawing presentation standards.
- Communicate effectively regarding the technical aspects and progress of projects.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent software.
- Knowledge and experience in general drafting procedures.
- Ability to perform walk downs and field sketch existing installations.
- Capability to read and understand existing plant drawings or demonstrate the ability to learn.
- Strong communication skills for effective technical discussions.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent multitasking abilities to handle several projects concurrently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in 3D modeling is a plus, but not required.
