Permit Coordinator – GIS / OSP

Location: Canton, GA (30115)
Pay Rate: ~ +/- $25--$35/hr (Based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM

About the Opportunity
A well-established company is seeking an OSP (Outside Plant) Permit Specialist to review and perform quality control (QC) of field survey data, prepare pole attachment and right-of-way (ROW) permit documents and maps for submission to jurisdictional authorities. This role also includes maintaining tracking forms, file uploads, and status updates for submittals.
There are two openings, and candidates with prior experience in land permitting and pole attachment permitting are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and QC field survey data related to permits for fiber optic OSP construction.
  • Prepare pole attachment and ROW permit documents and maps.
  • Create and edit spreadsheets in MS Excel.
  • Develop and modify maps using Google Earth KMZ files and GIS software (ArcGIS, ArcMAP, etc.).
  • Utilize PDF editor software to prepare and markup maps/documents.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers.
  • Maintain tracking forms, perform file uploads, and provide status updates for submittals.
  • Perform additional related tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement).
  • Experience with GIS software (ArcMAP, ArcGIS, etc.).
  • Prior land permitting or pole attachment permitting experience highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must present a professional image in all interactions.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check (7 years) and 10-panel drug screen.
