Fire Sprinkler Designer – Greenville, SC

We are currently partnering with our client, a well-established fire protection contractor based in Greenville, SC, in the search for a Fire Sprinkler Designer. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in fire protection system design and a solid understanding of NFPA standards. The position offers a Monday–Thursday schedule (7:00 AM–5:30 PM) and relocation assistance for candidates located east of the Mississippi.

Job Overview:
The Sprinkler Designer will be responsible for creating fire protection system layouts that comply with NFPA codes, building regulations, and project specifications. This includes hydraulic calculations, system coordination, and supporting field installation teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design sprinkler systems using HydraCAD and AutoCAD in accordance with NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and other applicable standards.

  • Prepare layout drawings, material lists, and hydraulic calculations.

  • Coordinate designs by reviewing architectural, structural, and MEP plans.

  • Ensure all systems comply with local, state, and national codes.

  • Communicate with AHJs, clients, contractors, and internal teams.

  • Assist with permitting, submittals, and approvals.

  • Provide technical guidance during field installation and post-installation adjustments.

  • Keep current with code updates and fire protection design best practices.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Fire Sprinkler Designer.

  • Proficiency in HydraCAD and AutoCAD.

  • Strong understanding of NFPA codes and fire protection design standards.

  • Ability to interpret construction documents and technical drawings.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout (preferred).

  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
