About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining control systems used in water and wastewater treatment plants. You will work directly with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and other electrical control equipment.

This position involves significant travel (50-75%) to client sites. When not on the road, you will provide in-office support, including assisting with panel shop tasks and remote troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities

  • Commission and troubleshoot control systems, including PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation.

  • Provide excellent service and customer support during field visits.

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues, ensuring proper solutions are implemented.

  • Produce detailed service reports and documentation.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project success.

  • Build strong relationships with clients to maintain satisfaction.

  • Follow all company procedures, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
Qualifications

  • 2-year Electrical Technology Degree or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Strong understanding of PLCs, VFDs, and electrical troubleshooting.

  • Experience in control panel systems and industrial automation preferred.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to travel as needed (50-75% travel required).

  • Valid driver's license.

    Location: Ames, IA (Open to candidates in Minnesota if necessary)

    Employment Type: Direct Hire

    Salary Range: $65,000 - $90,000 + Annual Bonus
