Job Description

We are seeking a Field Service Technician in the Ames, IA area to join a growing team specializing in PLC troubleshooting, control systems, and motor controls. This role offers a competitive salary, annual bonus potential, and a fully paid company vehicle (personal use included, gas and insurance covered).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commission, troubleshoot, and service PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation for water/wastewater treatment plants.
  • Provide on-site support for installation, repairs, and system maintenance.
  • Diagnose technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Produce detailed service reports and maintain proper documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
Qualifications:
  • 2-year Electrical Technology degree or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel 50-75% (air travel as needed).
Job Details:
  • Location: Ames, IA (also open to Minneapolis, MN candidates).
  • Salary: $65K-$90K + bonus.
  • On-Call Pay: $60/hour extra (rare, typically one week at a time).
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (schedule varies based on travel).
  • Travel: 50-75%, all expenses covered.
  • Perks: 100% paid company vehicle (gas & insurance included, personal use allowed), phone, laptop.
  • Work from Home: No.
