Field Service Electrical Technician/Engineer

bout the Role:
Selectek is seeking a Field Service Electrical Technician/Engineer to install, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial control panels and electrical systems at customer sites. This role involves PLC programming, HMI development, AC drive configuration, and industrial networking, ensuring the efficient operation of heavy industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience and be comfortable with 50%+ travel, primarily domestic, with some international assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with 2D AutoCAD drafting for electrical control panel modifications.
  • Develop Bill of Materials (BOMs) and oversee panel build/testing before shipment.
  • Program and commission Allen Bradley PLCs & HMIs (Siemens TIA Portal preferred).
  • Configure and troubleshoot AC drives, EtherNet networks, and industrial power systems.
  • Provide remote technical support to field teams during equipment installation.
  • Travel to customer sites for equipment commissioning and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of industrial control panel design and commissioning.
  • 3+ years of Allen Bradley PLC & HMI programming (5+ years highly preferred).
  • Experience with AC drives, EtherNet networking, and AutoCAD for modifications.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in the field.
  • Open to 50%+ travel, typically for one-week trips (occasional two-week assignments).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (no sponsorship available).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Siemens TIA Portal experience.
  • Familiarity with UL508 & NFPA 79 safety codes.
  • BSEE or BSEET (not required but preferred).

  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

    Employment Type: Direct Hire
    Compensation:
  • Non-degreed candidates: ~$80K ±
  • Degreed candidates: ~$95K ± (flexible based on experience)
