Job Description

Selectek is looking for an Estimating Manager in the Atlanta, GA metro area. Project estimating includes capturing all costs of the project including actual construction costs for the specific project location. The ideal candidate would have experience working for an engineering and construction firm performing the project estimate of EPC Projects in the $50+ million range.

Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction management, and/or commensurate estimating experience
  • 10+ years of experience in EPC Project Estimating for steam and power or heavy industrial projects
  • Experience estimating projects in the $50+ million range
  • Experience pricing the installation of pumps, fans, material handling systems, boilers and pressure parts, heat exchangers, air pollution control equipment, steam turbine generators, combustion turbines, and reciprocating engines
  • Knowledge of the construction process, construction estimating principles, sequences and practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate and complete estimates
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of steam and power generation systems including combined and Rankine cycle cogeneration using fossil fuels, biomass, RNG, hydrogen, and plant waste projects is a plus
  • Willingness to learn and establish proficiency with InEight Construction Estimating Software

Job Details:
  • Generate detailed project estimates for company's proposals capturing all costs of the project including commodity costs, installation hours, rental equipment such as crane costs, and reviewing the constructability of the project
  • Perform project estimation for 4-6 core projects per year totaling $300+ million plus multiple smaller projects
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and project control leads during the estimating process
  • Develop material take-offs for concrete, structural steel, piping, and electrical systems
  • Develop Request for Proposal (RFP) specifications and bid packages for suppliers and subcontractors
  • Evaluate all specifications and proposals to ensure estimates are complete and provide the most cost effective yet reliable option to meet the client’s requirements
  • Participate in estimate reviews with management and customers
  • Visit jobsites to obtain or confirm project specifics to ensure an accurate estimate
  • Track and evaluate data from current and previous projects for use in future estimates


Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 annual salary
Relocation:  Possible
Term of assignment: Direct hire
Location of job: Kennesaw (30144) 
Hours & Shift & WFH:
  • 9 hours Monday through Thursday and a 4-hour day on Friday.
  • Hours are 8AM – 6PM Monday through Thursday and 8AM – 12PM on Friday.
  • The Estimating Manager may need to be in the office full time for a while at first as they will be building a group/team. Possible hybrid schedule down the road.

Travel: 10% possible
